Master Tham invited as a Panelist at the Faculty of Built Environment, University of Malaya

October 2017: Master Tham Kuen Wei was invited by his alma mater University of Malaya to present a talk to encourage new students and some topics on Property and Feng Shui at the Faculty of Build Environment.

Master Tham explained that Feng Shui is not about usage of mascots or objects, but only the usage of such elements to control. Feng Shui had been commercialized by many parties to sell manufactured goods for profit rather than effectively assist them in obtaining good Chi.

These Feng Shui mascots, usually exaggerated in the market had been only meant to control and can be substituted by household items such as metal ware, water or pots to control and bring harmonization to the property. The utmost factor of Feng Shui lies in the compatibility of life charts, environmental factors, geographical, design of the building and external features in concern.

Li and his family have recently changed their address from Deep Water Bay to Southern District Hill in Hong Kong. The mansion is located in Shou Ji Tianfu, and is made of white marble. Lake Washington in front of it rounds out the energy.

New York Times reported in 2005 that Walt Disney high positioned executives shifted the entrance door of Hong Kong Disneyland by 12 degrees to allow the theme park to yield maximum prosperity. After experiencing the benefits that followed his first Feng Shui consultation he incorporated the principles to his Bel Air home.

It was reported by New York Times 2013 where in New York, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is revamping the subways with Feng Shui elements. Meanwhile, a bridge in Qiongshan, Guangdong was blow up by locals because it seriously violated Feng Shui principles.

Las Vegas Casino Mogul Steve Wynn – the hotel magnet billionaire, in Las Vegas utilizes these wealth producing techniques popular in Southeast Asia and made even more fortune ever since. The Sands Macao which is a casino in Asia, includes a rounded, tower-like hotel structure that the company designed specifically with Feng Shui features. Images of dragons and the Great Wall of China adorn many of the casino’s 1,254 slot machines. Steve said, “For the time being, this is the best casino in China.”

Richard Branson – Tycoon of Virgin Atlantic Airlines. Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Records fame, used Feng Shui principles when decorating his famous “Necker Island” retreat in the Caribbean. Walking toward the main house, you instantly feel relaxed and awash with peaceful calm. The buildings are very open and airy which allows the chi to meander in and through the space with ease.
It should be noted that clear analysis of Feng Shui on these events should be done through proper investigation. Although there are a lot of people who implemented or practiced Feng Shui, only genuine and true Feng Shui can bring positive effects.

Feng Shui of Cologne Cathedral, Germany

DSC01761

The Cologne Cathedral Roman Catholic church is located in Cologne, Germany. It was recognized as an UNESCO site in 1996. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne (currently Cardinal Joachim Meisner), and is under the administration of the Archdiocese of Cologne. It is renowned as a monument of Christianity, of German Catholicism in particular, of Gothic architecture and of the continuing faith and perseverance of the people of the city in which it stands. It is dedicated to Saint Peter and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is 144.5 metres long, 86.5 m wide and its towers are approximately 157 m tall. The cathedral is one of the world’s largest churches and the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe. For four years, 1880-84, it was the tallest structure in the world. It has the second-tallest church spires, only surpassed by the single spire of Ulm Minster, completed 10 years later in 1890. Because of its enormous twin spires, it also presents the largest façade of any church in the world.

DSC02409

Master Tham took the opportunity to pay this fabulous church a visit when he went to Germany to investigate Feng Shui there.

THE CHURCH’S ARCHITECTURE IS UNIQUE AND WAS DONE CORRECTLY THE FENG SHUI WAY
The church was built in a good spot and ideal location where good Chi flow is present. The church becomes like a magnet, attracting fame, wealth and influence from everywhere and all directions. Because of the correct Feng Shui position, the church brings luck to the residents there as well as bringing economic growth to the city. More over, the church managed to bring fame and strong influence to the city.

DSC01806

The great twin spires of this magnificent building are like two lions guarding the city. Because the twin spires were built in a suitable location and its background properties is good, it has good Feng Shui. Master Tham said, ‘The fate of a man was destined when he was born but the fate of a building was destined to be either good or bad when it was built on a particular location.’ The great twin spires represent two lions that guard the church. The effects of these lions were clearly seen during the World War II. During the World War II, Cologne was bombed and severely hit by aerial bombs for more than seventy times. However, it did not collapse but stood tall and steady. The great twin spires that metaphorically known as ‘Lions’ managed to protect the building from harm. It is not possible for any building as tall as 157 metres to resist seventy hits of aerial bombardment unless it has great Feng Shui that protects it. The great twin spires with its exterior properties that looks like two lions will look after the entire town of Cologne. Master Tham said ‘The location of the Church is good and it brings harmony to all the residents there. Chinese people do believe in Feng Shui. During the ancient times, when there is a good and correct location with good feng shui properties, a house built at that particular location will bring wealth, prosperity, fame, good health and tremendous good luck to the occupants of the house. However, if a temple or church was built at that particular location, the entire village or city will benefit from it.’

DSC01783

Master Tham also entered church to investigate its interior properties. The church’s location is facing the South. When the church was viewed from the sky, it looks like a cross shape. The cross shape signifies stability and beauty. The church’s Feng Shui is able to trap the wind (Feng in Mandarin) and water (Shui in Mandarin). Therefore, it is like a safety box that attracts and stores jewelries. There are a lot of treasures and valuable antiques and items in the basement of the church such as jewelries and Jewish tablets. In Feng Shui, the Yin and Yang have to be balanced, then only the Feng Shui of the building can be harmonized. The sparkling bright treasures and antiques have Yang properties and they gave out the Yang Aura. There was also a famous sarcophagus named ‘Shrine of The Three Kings’ that is traditionally believed to hold the remains of the Three Wise Men whose bones and 2000-year-old clothes were discovered at the opening of the shrine in 1864. The famous sarcophagus has Yin Properties which is dull and dark. Thus, these Yin auras from the sarcophagus and Yang aura from the jewelries and treasures balanced each other and thus, creating a harmonized Feng Shui effect.

DSC01790

According to history, despite heavy bombings during the World War II, the Church still stands today. However, as years passed by, the bricks of the building become even stronger. Renovations were done after 1948. The church celebrated its 700 year anniversary in 1998.

Master Tham said that the history of the Cologne Cathedral is very good and every Sunday, there will be a lot of people who will visit this church for their prayers. Because of this church, people from all over the world visited Cologne. This is the reason why Feng Shui is very important. The church became a famous place for infant baptism in Germany.

THE COLORFUL WINDOWS WITH DIFFERENT COLORS
Master Tham is the first International Feng Shui Master who likes to travel around the World to investigate the Feng Shui of various interesting buildings and places. He also enjoys art and heritage of all cultures.
There are a lot of colorful windows in the church. These windows play an important role in Feng Shui for the Church. The church was huge and filled with dim lights inside and thus, full of Yin energy. Too much of dimness (Yin energy) is not good. However, the windows with its colorful colors allow the beams of light to pass into the church. The beams of light that pass through the windows bring positive Yang energy into the church. The Yang energy was further intensified by the rainbow colors of the windows. Thus, the Yin and Yang harmonizes each other.

DSC01776

DIFFERENT FENG SHUI FOR DIFFERENT LOCATIONS
Master Tham said that not all twin towers are good Feng Shui unless it is located in a correct position as in according to advised by the Chinese Luopun and have to in combatible with various factors and needed to be harmonized with other good Feng Shui energies. Feng Shui is different for all places and it needs to take a lot of other factors like its background into consideration before determining whether it is good or not. However it is a good coincident the twin towers of the church is located perfectly which enhance good energies not only to the building itself but it radiant strong positive energies to its surrounding areas as well.

Feng Shui of China Town, London, England

DSCN7416

INTERNATIONAL FENG SHUI MASTER THAM AT THE ARCHWAY OF LONDON CHINATOWN, ENGLAND.

The name Chinatown has been used at a lot of places around the world. Chinese people had established Chinatowns all over the world. In London, the Chinatown is located in Gerrard Street, London City.

Chinatown of London is full of Chinese shops, built with unique Chinese architectures. There are a lot of delicious Chinese restaurants, souvenir shops, supermarkets, cafes, bakeries, and other businesses there. The town is always full of people and is a very lively city.
Thousands of Chinese group together at the Limehouse area of the East End of London during the 20th century. At the start of the 20th century, the Chinese population of London was concentrated in that area, setting up businesses which catered to the Chinese sailors who frequented in Docklands (South-East and North-East areas of London). As the Chinese community venture into new business opportunities, the city began to grow rapidly. The new Chinatown was formed in the 1970’s. There was a rapid growth in the development of Chinatown that time. A lot of Hong Kong citizens migrated to the town and they had opened a lot of new restaurants.

Like all other Chinatowns, London Chinatown has an Archway (Pai Fang) that holds the name of the town. It had become a Chinese custom where all Chinese villages and towns must have an Archway to be built in order to name the place, city or village of an area. Many people do not realize that the Archway is actually an important aspect of Feng Shui that will influence the development and progress of the town or city. Literally, the Archway (Pai Fang) determines the fate of the city or village. There is also a pair of Lion Statues made of stone that was placed behind the Archway (Pai Fang).
Master Tham said, ‘A good Archway with excellent Feng Shui features can bring prosperity and fame to the occupants of the particular village. However, if the Feng Shui is not good, the village will be full of very old people and very young children only. The young generation will migrate to other places.’ That is the reason why a true Feng Shui expert is needed to remedy and place the Archway of any certain city or village in order to prevent mishaps and bad luck.

CELEBRATIONS IN LONDON CHINATOWN.

DSCN7587
THE FENG SHUI OF THE ARCHWAY (PAI FANG)

After the inspection of the Archway’s peculiar Feng Shui, International Feng Shui Master Tham said that the Feng Shui of the Archway is very good. Many years ago, the England government pays Chinese people who settled down here to migrate back to the mainland of China but they refused. Instead, more and more people settle down at London Chinatown. More and more people from Vietnam, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Yunan had joined the residents of the city and turn it into a bustling city. Master Tham explains that this is due to the good Feng Shui of the Archway and location. During the Wesak Day in year 2007, The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were all by dragon dancers as they visit London’s Chinatown. Charles and Camilla also visited Chinese bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants there. London Chinatown becomes more and more famous day by day. Thousands of people gathered to watch the different celebrations and festivals of the Chinese Community there every year and thus, making the city very lively. These are due to the Lively Chi that was converged towards the city by the Feng Shui of the Archway (Pai Fang). There are four special Feng Shui points that were highlighted by Master Tham regarding the Archway.

1) The direction the Archway (Pai Fang) is facing was built correctly and enough to bring good Feng Shui to the town. However, if the Archway is to be moved with a minor change of just 3 degrees, the Feng Shui will be even stronger. The height of the Archway is not tall enough. It is such a waste as if the height and facing direction of the Archway is to be changed correctly, London Chinatown will be even more famous and prosperous.

2) The Archway’s signboard has holes in the middle and sides of it that allows wind to pass through it. Ancient Chinese Archways are considered bad if there are holes at the middle of it. If the holes were sealed, the Feng Shui will be stronger and its effectiveness will be enhanced.

3) The Archway is not built of concrete. Although the current Archway is strong and steady, it should be made of concrete in order to secure the more powerful energies of Feng Shui. If it is made up of concrete, it will have a permanent resistance against wind and water and thus, helps to maintain its positive energy.

4) The most pitiful thing is, the two Lion Guardians which was placed behind – hiding behind the Archway. The two huge lion statues, which is made of concrete should be placed at front of the Archway instead of the hiding them behind the Archway. The statues have the potential to safe guard the Chi that enters the City but it is unable to utilize this Feng Shui enhancer as no blessings were done to the statues and they were placed at the wrong location. Thus, the good effect of the pair of Lions was diminished. Master Tham would like to remind all readers that statues of animals needed to be used correctly according to the Feng Shui’s location and the accurate precepts before placing them. The correct use of these statues can contribute to enhance the good Feng Shui of a particular location but a wrong usage could bring devastating effects.

STREETS OF LONDON CHINATOWN.

NINE FLYING STAR FENG SHUI
According to Master Tham, the Archway Feng Shui is located at the number 1 where it will have fame, prosperity good luck and a very lively environment. Occupants in the city will definitely find a good living inside this city. However, 9 Flying Star Feng Shui changes according to time while the permanent and real Feng Shui properties such as the location, background environment and the Archway can almost last forever if no changes are to be made. If the Feng Shui of the Archway (Pai Fang) is bad, the young generation will migrate to other places to work and live instead of staying there. Master Tham added that the Feng Shui in London Chinatown is good. However, if the above four points were to be changed, the good Feng Shui of London Chinatown will be at its best potential and the residents will definitely have an extremely good future ahead.

Whitney Houston and Leslile Cheung in depression

i_look_to_you123

Whitney Houston, who is one of the top pop queens had sold more than 170 million albums worldwide. However, little people know that she suffered from depression and personal struggles. She died of unknown causes on Feb 2012.

Her luck was extremely bad starting from 2005 where she faced disputes with her family members, where it led to a divorce in 2006.

Little people knew she was suffering quietly until the media revealed it. The worst thing is, she had no one to turn to and depend on when she went through hell.

The same thing happened to Leslie Cheung who suffered from depression quietly. Leslie was ranked as the 1st Most Favored Actor in 100 Years of Chinese Cinema in 2005 by China Television Central. He is one of the founding fathers to Cantopop and had contributed tremendously to the Chinese music arena.

Leslie, despite his fame and success suffered from depression quietly. He committed suicide on 1st of April 2003 and left a note – informing the public he was depressed. The note and his action shocked the Asian entertainment industry and news spread in extreme haste across Hong Kong, and Asian countries.

The death of Houston and Leslie are both a major loss to us. No matter a person who is rich, poor, famous, beautiful, ugly, intelligent or whatsoever, as long as there are people – there will be good and bad period of times where luck is not with us. There are times where we had bad luck afflictions that affect our mood, thinking and the things that happen around us.

During these bad periods, our bad luck might be worsen by the bad Chi where they present in bad feng shui neighbour hood or areas. When you are in depression or in bad luck, get someone to talk to and help you. Never live in depression alone as life is very wonderful. It is just that whether you are in a bad luck period or you are having bad Feng Shui. The best part of life had yet to come. It is recommended that you consult a real Feng Shui Master to assist you if you feel that your life always turn out to be disappointing. Consult a genuine and reliable Feng Shui Master. Do your homework and be choosy as your fate will be affected if you consult a fake Feng Shui Master.

Whenever you suffer any type of problems, forms of depression or disappointments, one should avoid committing into taking drugs, suicide, keeping to yourself or stay alone. Search for some one that you can chat with or a genuine professional Feng Shui consultant where it will assist you tremendously. Don’t forget that the best moments are still yet to come to us!

Although both of them is rich and famous, both left us because they don’t have ”helpful” people around them.
Hope this will provide a little advice to others. Whenever one who is suffering from bad depression or on the verge of committing suicide or taking drugs, never forget to consult or chat with other people that might be a great help to you such as your close one or even someone you have not been acquainted before such as a psychologist or a genuine and true prefessional Feng Shui Master! A little change at the spur of this mindful thought would give you that wonderful moment to find out not only how important your valuable life is, but especially how much the societies needed your support and how much we needed you to share our life and grow old with us!

Fishpond Feng Shui

fengshuipond

Fish pond had been a favorite tool for Feng Shui remedies all over the world. Many people would be wondering, are Fish Pond Feng Shui for real and are they effective? In genuine and effective feng shui theories, water features such as water fountains, ponds or pools are not determined by just locating it on the left or right without considering the full details of the geographical properties by a reliable and true feng shui master who posses deep knowledge in Feng Shui. Other things needed to be taken into consideration includes the household birth dates, landscapes, and surrounding areas before a correct spot is to be chosen fot the particular water location as it is very dangerous to choose a particular spot blindly.

International Feng Shui Grand Master Tham Fook Cheong stated that Fish Ponds that represents the element of water in many situations can be utilized for the benefits of the occupants if the situation is appropriate according to accurate and correct Feng Shui principles.

Water Ponds that had been supervised and guided by a reliable and good Feng Shui Master have the potential to bring good benefits such as good health, wealth, fame and even good luck to the occupants. However, if wrongly constructed or its construction aspects such as shape, width and length, depth, sector or location is against the fundamental theories of feng shui will result in very bad energy or Chi that comes along with it. Therefore, an experienced, true and reliable Feng Shui Master is needed to activate the Water Element and at the same time, evading the bad Chi. This is critical for the safety and benefit of the occupants.

When it comes to constructing a pond or a pool, do not take feng shui for granted.

A lot of people had been building swimming pools, fish ponds or even water fountains without realizing the dangers that await them. Normally, they will have good luck and bad luck that happen at the same time, or at intervals. In a nutshell, their good luck and wealth goes up and down. In critical situations, good things start to happen at short time, followed by long periods of constant bad luck that might even lead to accidents and instant death without any warning. No matter how hardworking and effort you put in your undertakings, things will not go what you expected them to be.

In most situations, the most clever and highly potential son or the most beautiful and clever daughter in the family will suffer first, followed by their siblings. Problems will arise such as financial difficulties, family relationship problems, and sickness. Some people will then move out of the house and reside in other areas while some will continue to stay and suffer without realizing it.

Therefore, it is crucial to seek a true, reliable and genuine Feng Shui Master to study and geting advises before the construction of the pond or pool, otherwise, it is safest for the family that their surrounding buidling should be left alone without any water features. Into the Eiffel Tower of Paris

FENG SHUI OF EIFFEL TOWER, PARIS,FRANCE

DSCN7185

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous structures in the world. At a height of 324 metres, it was the tallest building in the world from 1889 to 1930. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most visited paid monument in the world where millions of people ascended the tower every year. The tower had become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France.

The Eiffel Tower was named after its engineer, Gustave Eiffel. This is a must visit place for everyone, be it old or young. Taking a wedding photo under the tower is every girl’s dream and would be their most precious moment in their life. Master Tham said that the Feng Shui of this building is superb. Master Tham said, “If the Feng Shui of Eiffel Tower is not good, will there be such tremendous amount of visitors to this place every day? This is one of the miracles of Feng Shui.”

DSC02835

PARIS CITY HAD A FLAT LAND FENG SHUI

Normally, Feng Shui is associated with high mountains and water such as rivers and lakes. Therefore, some Feng Shui theorists stated that flat lands do not have good Feng Shui because there is a lost in Yang element. However, Master Tham clarified that Paris is having a unique Flat Land Feng Shui. The flat land ease the distribution of Chi flow as the location is favorable and unique.

DSC02836

PARIS HAD AN EXCELLENT KAU SHAN (SUPPORTIVE MOUNTAIN)

There is actually a Kau Shan (supportive mountain) in Paris despite its flat land. Master Tham pointed out that the Eiffel Tower is the Kau Shan (supportive mountains) of Paris. Therefore, the Kau Shan (supportive mountains) brings the liveliness and fame to Paris. It also holds the good Chi and distributes it to its surroundings. Since the Eiffel Tower’s location is favorable – being in the centre of Paris City, it is able to spread good Chi to the entire city.

DSC02826

EIFFEL TOWER IS AN ELEMENT OF FIRE

Master Tham also stated that the element of the Eiffel Tower is Fire. It gives warmth to its citizens and brings luck and wealth to the country. Besides, it is like a ‘Torch’ of Paris where it will brings a lot of improvements and developments to the City Of Paris. According to Master Tham, the tower was also erected at the correct sector. This is the reason whyParis has great influence in world politics, education, entertainment, median, fashion, science and arts.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Master Tham stated that, although the Feng Shui of Eiffel Tower is good, everyone should take note that the Feng Shui of Eiffel Tower would change between the years of around 2012. Engineers will have to repair the tower to prevent any mishaps. This is because there is a bit of negation in the Chi structure during those years.

Feng Shui of The Versailles Palace, France

FENG SHUI OF VERSAILLES PALACE, VERSAILLES, FRANCE

palace-versailles-4_683790cThe Versailles Palace is one of the most prestigious, beautiful, largest and famous western palaces in the world. Situated in Versailles, France, this famous and grand palace have a total floor space of 67,000 metres square with 153 windows, 700 rooms, 6,123 drawings, more than 15,000 engravings, around 2,100 sculptures, and more than 5,100 furniture. In French, it was known as the Chateau de Versailles.

DSC02553

International Feng Shui Master Tham had inspected the Feng Shui of this particular palace during his official trip to investigate Feng Shui in Paris and he will share with you some concepts of Feng Shui that had adversely affected the miserable fate of King Louis XIV during the time when he stay in this palace.

According to history, the construction of the palace started during the reign of King Louis XIV. The King constructed a hunting lodge at Versailles which was later expanded into the magnificent palace we see today.

Although the palace has fantastic architecture, little people actually knew that the palace brings misfortune to its occupants and a huge chaos actually happened there because of the poor Feng Shui of this palace. The occupants which are King Louis XIV and his royal family faced terrible mishaps and a bitter fate because of the bad Feng Shui there.

A building’s Feng Shui depends on the flow of Chi and the Feng Shui factors of its surroundings, not the architecture or things decorated in it.

Master Tham said ‘As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover and never judge a building’s Feng Shui by whether the building is prestigious, beautiful, and impressive or not. A simple wood house in a rural area might have very good Feng Shui while a prestigious palace may have extremely bad Feng Shui that will bring misfortunes to the occupants there.’

As you continue to read on, Master Tham will explain to you some of the miserable events that happened to King Louis XIV and his surroundings as well as what factors of Feng Shui that had caused all these misery events.

DSC02779

POOR FENG SHUI LOCATION AND UNSUITABLE GEOGRAPHICAL CONDITION

The Versailles Palace was built in Versailles at the East of Île-de-France Region with valuable resources and expensive bricks. However, the magnificent palace that was built with all these expensive resources cannot help to maintain the King’s position because of the poor Feng Shui location and unsupportive geographical conditions which disrupt suitable and good Chi flow. King Louis XIV suffered tremendous mishaps. According to history, he was overthrown and his monarchy was abolished. To make matters worst, he was executed by his own citizens and was beheaded in 1793. Master Tham said ‘Feng Shui can influence anyone’s fate, including the King. The King will face a lot of obstacles as there are no supportive mountains to help him.’

There are no supportive mountains behind the palace (Kau Shan in Mandarin) to help the King as the geographical condition of the location is nothing but a flat swamp land with no mountains behind. Therefore, the good Chi flow will flow pass the palace without staying in the palace. Good events will happen for a while but will never stay long as they come and go. It is not permanent and will soon be very bad after the good Chi had gone away.

DSC02734

King Louis XIV enjoyed a good life during the early years when he occupied the newly built palace before the mishaps happen. The palace was guarded by more than 4000 soldiers and 4000 cavalry units. The King also invited his entire royal family to stay in the magnificent palace. The total occupants of the palace was estimated to be 36, 000 people which includes the King’s entire royal family, ministers, body guards, as well as servants and workers. The King renovated the palace in four campaigns at the wrong time and disrupted the good Chi flow. As a consequence, the good Chi flows out faster and earlier. The King’s position started to be instable and threatened by various people.

KILLING CHI (SHA QI IN MANDARIN) WAS ACCUMULATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PALACE

After the renovations, the good Chi had already flowed out as there are no supportive mountains to trap the good Chi flow. The middle of the palace has a hunting lodge that have a lot of Killing Energies known as Sha Chi in Mandarin. The Yin and Yang energies are unable to accumulate inside due to this Sha Chi. Therefore, harmony effects is definitely not possible to happen in the palace. Master Tham had always advised his clients not to kill as it will bring a lot of Sha Chi. In most religion and cultures; most of them too, forbid taking life without reasons. We were taught to respect all types of living things. The Sha Chi accumulated in the hunting lodge during the early years started to flow out and absorbed by the occupants of the palace where no good Chi flow is able to block and stop them from flowing out. The King started to face more and more problems. He also begins to have illness frequently.

THE FENG SHUI OF THE PALACE’S FOUR SECTIONS ATTRACTED AND LOCKED DOWN THE SHA CHI

International Feng Shui Master Tham continues to investigate the Feng Shui of the palace by checking all the four major sections of the palace. The outcome of the Master’s investigation was dreadful. The four sections were built facing the wrong directions. More over, each sector’s length was unbalanced. The road going towards the palace at the frontier has a shape of a bow and an arrow pointing towards the palace. This directs Sha Chi towards the palace. Literally, the palace resembles a disabled bird with uneven wings that will be very soon hit by the arrow aiming on it.

Refer to the diagram and picture below to have a clear understanding of this concept.

Please note that the palace has unbalanced sectors that resemble a disabled bird and the road towards the palace resembles an arrow head aiming at the palace.

The French Revolution happened and the monarchy was dissolved. The King feared that his royal family might be harmed and he ordered his family to be evacuated to Tuileries Palace. He also ordered all the furniture (which numbers a few thousands) of the palace to be transported to Tuileries Palace. However, he was unable to do so as the Mayor of Versailles and the municipal met to draft a letter to Louis XVI in which they stated that if the furniture was removed, it would certainly precipitate economic ruin on the city. A deputation from Versailles met with the king on 12th of October after which Louis XVI, touched by the sentiments of the residents of Versailles, rescinded the order.

The King’s miserable fate comes to an end in 1793. He was stripped off his titles on 21st of January and beheaded on the same day. The saddest part is, he was only 33 years old when he died. This proves how powerful Feng Shui is. Good Feng Shui can make the occupants of a particular place to enjoy a long and healthy life, free of problems and worries, becoming richer as well as bringing good luck and happiness. However, Bad Feng Shui can cause the occupants to face disasters, bad luck, short life with a lot of illness, mishaps, accidents and even leaving the family with no descendants.

AFTERMATH

The furniture of the Palace was put up for auction the same year the King was executed. Only particular items with artistic value were exempted from the auction and the rest were to be sold out. Even the metal statutory in the Garden of Versailles was sent to the foundry and was made into a canon. The palace was made into a museum for people to visit and no one was occupying the palace until the very present day.

Feng Shui of the Temple of Heaven, Beijing

FENG SHUI OF THE TEMPLE OF HEAVEN, BEIJING

554

INTERNATIONAL FENG SHUI MASTER THAM INVESTIGATES THE FENG SHUI OF TEMPLE OF HEAVEN IN FORBIDDEN CITY DURING HIS BUSINESS TRIP TO CHINA.

The Temple of Heaven is one of the most famous landmarks in Beijing. Located in the Forbidden City which is the ancient palace of the Chinese Emperors, the temple is like a precious stone in the palace. The Temple of Heaven is also known as the Altar of Heaven. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven is a magnificent triple-gabled circular building, approximately 36 metres in diameter and 38 metres tall, built on three levels of marble stone base, where the Emperor prayed for good harvests. The building is completely wooden, with no nails. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that attracts more than 3000 visitors everyday.
During the ancient times where China was ruled by Dynasties, the Emperors of China was regarded as the Son of Heaven, who represents and has heavenly authority. In order to pay their respects to the heaven, they made sacrificial ceremonies and prayers to the heaven. The temple was built for these ceremonies, mostly comprising prayers for good harvests.
Twice a year the Emperor and all his retinue would move from the Forbidden city through Beijing to encamp within the complex, wearing special robes and practice vegetarian for the special occasion. They were not allowed to eat meat. Ordinary citizens were not allowed to view this procession or the following ceremony. In the temple complex, the Emperor would personally pray to Heaven for good harvests. The highpoint of the ceremony at the winter solstice was performed by the Emperor on the Earthly Mount. The ceremony had to be perfectly completed as the smallest of mistakes would constitute a bad omen for the whole nation in the coming year. If everything was done correctly, the country will enjoy prosperity and have good agricultural yields. What type of Feng Shui energy in this temple that makes this temple so highly respected by the emperors of China? What are the Feng Shui effects of this unique temple that can contribute to the ancient Chinese? International Feng Shui Master Tham paid this famous temple a visit when he visited Beijing and he will explain to you the unique and complex Feng Shui of this temple. Master Tham said, ‘The temple looks simple but it has a very complicated Feng Shui.’

The-Temple-of-Heaven-2

HISTORY OF THE TEMPLE
According to Master Tham, the temple complex was constructed from in the 15th century during the reign of the Yongle Emperor, who built the Imperial Forbidden City Palace in Beijing at the same time. The complex was extended and renamed ‘Temple of Heaven’ during the reign of the Emperor in the 16th century. During the ancient times, the temple was regarded one of the most expensive and grand temples in China. The temple is believed to be a median for humans on Earth to communicate with the heaven. Ancient Chinese philosophers said that the temple’s location is at the centre of the Earth and it is one of the many important medians between Earth and Heaven. The emperors get to receive signs in the form of dreams and meet unexplainable events after praying to the temple. It is said that the Heaven can inform, advice or remind the emperor about something in the form of these signs.

STRUCTURE OF THE TEMPLE ENTRAPS AND RETURNS GOOD CHI FLOW
The interior and exterior of the Temple is built with a square shape at the exterior and a round shape as its interior like this : 回. This shape of 回 is actually a Chinese word which means ‘returning’. Master Tham said that the shape of this ‘returning’ structure is able to receive good Chi flow from outside and above, and entraps the good Chi inside. This is because the direction and geographical condition of the temple is favorable. When the emperor prays for his citizens, the Good Chi Flow can flow outside and reach the citizens. Thus, the ‘回’ shape plays a significant role as it returns the Good Chi flow to the citizens of China.

UNIQUE ECHO FEATURES OF THE TEMPLE AMPLIFIES CHI
Master Tham said, ‘The walls of the temple have a unique feature. The ancient Chinese engineers design and carefully build the walls with two layers so that the walls are thick. The walls are able to produce an echo effect.’ In the temple of heaven, there are three doors. If a bell was rung, you will be able to hear it through the three doors. Those doors and long pathways are built that way so that the echos produced are able to pass through these long pathways.
These echos are able to amplify the good Chi in the temple.

Master Tham also emphasized that the direction and surrounding areas must also be carefully taken into consideration and be determined by the degrees of the Chinese Luopon before its construction.

Feng Shui of Hutong Alleyways & Siheyuan Houses, Beijing, China

FENG SHUI OF HUTONG ALLEYWAYS AND SIHEYUAN HOUSES, BEIJING, CHINA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A HUTONG HOUSE IN CHINA

If you pay Beijing City a visit in China, remember to grab the opportunity to take a tour through the famous Hutong alleyways that connects the ancient residential houses known as Siheyuan. A Hutong is an alleyway formed by Siheyuan houses. A Siheyuan (Chinese: 四合院 which means Four Harmonious Courtyard) is a historical type of residence that was commonly found throughout China, most famously in Beijing. In English, Siheyuan are sometimes referred to as Chinese quadrangles. The name literally means a courtyard surrounded by four buildings. In ancient times, a spacious Siheyuan would be occupied by a single, usually large and extended family, signifying wealth and prosperity. Today, many remaining Siheyuan are still used as housing complexes, but many lack modern amenities.
During China’s dynastic period, emperors planned the city of Beijing and arranged the residential areas according to the social classes of the Zhou Dynasty. The term “hutong”, originally meaning “water wells”, appeared first during the Yuan Dynasty.
Since the mid-20th century, the number of Beijing Hutong Villages has dropped dramatically as they were demolished to make way for new roads and buildings. The Chinese government had then pronounced a lot of Hutong Villages as protected areas.
A Siheyuan residential house is surrounded by four parts of buildings that link each other, forming a square with an empty space at the middle. What is the reason behind this unique formation of buildings that form one single residential house?
Master Tham explained that these ancient residential houses were built and designed in square shapes which face 4 different directions and there are a lot of Feng Shui reasons behind this unique architecture. Each residential building in a Siheyuan house have their own Feng Shui properties. There are a lot of Feng Shui theories about the architecture of a Siheyuan residential house. Master Tham will now explain further about the Feng Shui of Siheyuan residential houses through the true perspective of Feng Shui.

A BIRDS EYE VIEW OF A HUTONG HOUSE

A BIRDS EYE VIEW OF A HUTONG HOUSE

SIHEYUAN HOUSES AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS
Siheyuan houses hold one of the oldest and ancient Chinese architectures in the world. Nearly all Siheyuan had their main buildings and gates facing south for better lighting and to avoid the Northern Cold Wind; thus a majority of hutongs run from east to west. Between the main Hutongs, many tiny lanes ran north and south for convenient passage. The widths of ordinary pathways are around 24 steps wide while narrow Hutongs are only about 12 steps wide. Inside each of these houses, there are no open air spaces except at the middle of all the residential house where an empty square area was completely exposed to the sky. This exposed area is normally used as a garden and the residents will come out to have family activities such as drinking tea and talk with the family members, or playing with their children. Each main door of these ancient Siheyuan holds the signboard that tells people the family who are currently occupying the residential house. Most of the signboards are fitted with family surnames.

INTERNATIONAL FENG SHUI MASTER THAM IN HUTONG, BEIJING

Master Tham took a deep breath and said, ‘When Beijing starts to develop, a lot people started to demolish these ancient Siheyuans and Hutongs to build big roads and buildings. The ordinary Feng Shui properties were crushed and most of the ancient architectural characteristics were disrupted. Old Hutong Alleyways were widen up for car transportation and had been replaced by tar roads while old buildings with Feng Shui structures had been torn down for the development of new buildings. Nowadays, there are very little Hutongs and Siheyuan houses left in Beijing, so few that the government started to pronounce them as protected areas. These houses and alleyways are inter-connected to form a good Feng Shui property and they features how Feng Shui is widely practiced and implemented by the ancient people of China.

FENG SHUI OF HUTONGS AND SIHEYUAN IN ARCHITECTURAL PERCEPTION
The Siheyuan houses are compactly arranged together and the back side of the Siheyuan is very narrow, full of other houses. The Main door is connected by the wide main road. Narrow and compacted housing is presumed to have bad Feng Shui. However, these Siheyuan houses are seperated by Hutongs and thus, creating small spaces between each houses. Master Tham explained that the main road is very wide and this architectural design had changed the Feng Shui of Siheyuans and Hutongs completely. Master Tham added that houses that are compacted but have a wide and low main road is good as this enables good Chi flow to enter each residential house.

IMPORTANCE OF HUTONG ALLEYWAYS

CHI FLOWS THROUGH ALLEYWAYS

Hutong Alleyways normally have small drains at their sides, connecting each other Hutongs and the main road. The Hutong Alleyways is very important in destining the Feng Shui of a Siheyuan residential area. They are built with the advice of great Feng Shui masters that forms the arrangement accordingly to Feng Shui principles. A single renovation on a Hutong alleyway is capable in disrupting the good Feng Shui of the entire area. This is because the flow of Chi is disrupted and will not be able to harmonize each other as it flow through the main road and into the other pathways.

IMPORTANCE OF OPEN SPACE FENG SHUI
In ancient times, there is definitely an open space area in any type of residential buildings. The open space was carefully designed according to Feng Shui principles to allow rain water to water the plans and trees which gave out strong positive energy to the occupants. Rain that falls in the evenings had Yin Properties that brings comfort and peace to the occupants. Master Tham explained that open airs enables sunlight to enter each residential house. The sunlight had Yang Chi properties that will bring good luck and signifies success as they shine into the residential houses – into the rooms of the occupants. Therefore, a Siheyuan has very good Feng Shui if the middle of the Siheyuan is exposed to sunlight and rain as both Yin and Yang energies are able to balance up each other. This produce an extremely comfortable and peaceful environment with good Feng Shui features that will bring good luck, success, happiness, and peace to the occupants. This is the reason why Master Tham always advise his clients that each empty land should not be always covered with concrete, but to be filled with suitable plants.

022

A SQUARE GARDEN AT THE CENTRE OF HUTONG

THE FENG SHUI GARDEN
The open space area is supposed to be built into a garden in order to utilize the maximum potential of open space Feng Shui. Master Tham said ‘In an open space area, it is best to build a garden there instead of covering it with concrete. Plants can produce Living Chi if planted correctly and if the open space location is suitable.’ Master Tham added that a Feng Shui garden is able to hold the Yin energies to balance up the Yang energies during the day. A garden with Feng Shui properties can bring harmony and peace to the occupants. Suitable plants needed to be taken into consideration before planting them in the garden. Master Tham said that bamboo trees are suitable to be planted in Siheyuan gardens.

1323

INTERNATIONAL FENG SHUI MASTER THAM TAKING A REST AFTER INSPECTING FENG SHUI IN A HUTONG HOUSE. THE LIVELY CHI HOLDER

Master Tham would like to remind everyone that Feng Shui is not to be judged through the matter of just the building’s architectural properties and geographical features, but the environmental factors, compatibility of occupants such as date of births and their horoscopes must be taken into consideration as well. Therefore, different locations of Siheyuans have different Feng Shui. Master Tham said that during winter, the North Wind will come. The back side of the Siheyuan is usually higher than the other sides so that it will be able to put up a good resistance against the North Wind from gushing into the open space at the middle of the quadrangular residential house. This enables the good and harmonized Chi that was accumulated in the middle of the Siheyuan to be entrapped and maintain in the residential house. Master Tham also said that the outer parts of the Siheyuan should be planted with flowers and not covered with concrete.

IN ANCIENT TIMES, DESCENDANTS OF A PARTICULAR FAMILY STAY AT HUTONGS FOR GENERATIONS.

A RESIDENTIAL HOUSE FOR DESCENDANTS
Descendants of a particular family used to stay together at these huge Siheyuan houses. A particular family will stay in the Siheyuan for generations and enjoy the good Feng Shui of it if the Feng Shui is good. However, if the Feng Shui is not good or not compatible with the occupants, the descendants will move out, face terrible calamities or grow old with loneliness. In relative to modern society, it is extremely important to consult a genuine and knowledgeable Feng Shui Master with proven records – who have true and genuine testimonials to remedy the Feng Shui of your house. Master Tham would like to remind all readers that Feng Shui is not something that you can master by just reading books or attending classes. One needed to learn it from a true Master who accepted him as his trusted disciple, learn it correctly from the correct source, practice it for years correctly, able to observe and investigate every Feng Shui properties, make research on all Feng Shui subjects and principles, and must have proof and testimonials to support his findings and services. Only then, one could be a Feng Shui Master who is able to serve the others.
Think carefully before you engage a Feng Shui Master. Many people who claim themselves as Feng Shui Masters normally likes to boast with their Feng Shui theories and diagrams but never had true and genuine testimonials from their successful clients. Therefore, make sure you don’t fall into their traps.
